World Junior Figure Skating Championship – 2013: 26 February to 3 March, Milano, Italy

The city of Milan, the first in Italy to host a World Championship junior figure skating, welcomes you!
From February 25 to March 3, 2013, Milan will host the “World Junior Figure Skating Championship”, a sporting event of great international prestige that will turn the spotlight on Milan and on the best athletes for ice-skating.
A unique opportunity to encounter between sport and culture which will be attended by about 220
athletes from more than 40 nations, and by 1976 it continues to give great emotions to the public revealing talents and promises of skating.
The junior World Championships in Milan are an event of the International Skating Union, entrusted to the Italian Ice Sports Federation and will be held at the ice stadium Agorà, located in Via dei Ciclamini 23, with the collaboration of other important Lombard structures including the Mediolanum Forum.
The President of the Organizing Committee, Dr. Pompey Guarnieri, said he was “honored to host a sporting event of such importance for the first in our country in the history of figure skating”.
Race disciplines will be dancing and artistic; the latter with the specialities of single male, female and couple.

Venue

The Ice Stadium Agorà, Official Venue for these Event, is located in the southwest section of Milan in Via Ciclamini 23, between Via Primaticcio and Viale Legioni Romane. It is linked to the city centre and the Centrale railway station by a network of public transportation. By car, it is close to the tangenziale ovest (exit: Baggio)

The Agorà Ice Stadium has been operative for over 20 years, and represents today the largest structure in Milan for Ice Sports. Unique in Milan, it has an Olympic-sized rink (30×60 mts) and a capacity of 4.000 seats. Its characteristics allow it host national and international events and welcome lovers of all ice sports. In the last year it has been visited by more that 200.000 people.

Agorà, apart from promoting all the ice sports, is also organizing and promoting events and show that make it not only a sports centre but also a place for fun and entertainment. Among all the activities hosted in this structure, the A-league hockey championships, and competitions of figure skating, ice dance, synchronized skating and short track speed skating.

The Ice Stadium Agorà is also comfortably reachable by public transport.
